The definition of a ‘Page Complete’ fluctuates as more 3rd party resources (e.g. ad trackers, chat boxes) are embedded on a page. While Chinafy attempts to optimize all resources, some initiators for 3rd party resources are nestled deep within code, and hence, may not be optimized. For this reason, we look at the “Average Time to Load the First X” resources, as an indicator of when a page is both visually complete, and when critical components are loaded. Supporting and/or 3rd party resources are typically loaded later in the waterfall, have less visual impact, and in some cases, may be beyond our control.
